Terms of service

The deal
AttachKit is a browser-based PDF tool. You can use it free for up to 15 documents per month, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited. By using AttachKit you agree to these terms.
What we don't do
- We don't practice law. Signing or filling a form on AttachKit is not legal advice. Forms with legal consequences (immigration, real estate, healthcare, contracts) — consult a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.
- We don't guarantee acceptance.A filled or signed PDF is only as valid as the issuing authority accepts. USCIS, IRS, courts, landlords, etc. may require specific formats, notarization, or original signatures we can't produce.
- We don't store your PDFs by default. Filling, signing, and redaction run entirely in your browser. The one exception is Send-for-signature, where we hold an encrypted copy (ciphertext we can't read) until the request completes — see our privacy page and security for the architecture. If you lose a PDF you didn't download, we can't recover it.
E-signature legality
Signatures produced by AttachKitare electronic signatures under the US ESIGN Act (15 USC §7001) and UETA, and qualify as “simple electronic signatures” under EU eIDAS. They are valid and enforceable for most US private agreements. They are not Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) under eIDAS — for those, use a CA-issued certificate via a Qualified Trust Service Provider.
Certain documents always require additional formalities regardless of e-signature law (wills, certain real-estate filings, court orders, powers of attorney in many states, etc.). Know your jurisdiction.
Consumer disclosures (ESIGN §7001(c)). By signing, filling, or sending a document electronically through AttachKit, you consent to use electronic records and signatures for that transaction. You may request a paper copy of any record you signed — it's the PDF you download, at no extra charge — and you may withdraw your consent to transact electronically at any time by not completing the action; withdrawal doesn't affect a document you've already signed. To access and retain electronic records you need a current web browser, a PDF reader, and the ability to download and store files locally — the same setup needed to use AttachKit at all.
Acceptable use
- Don't use AttachKit to forge anyone else's signature.
- Don't use Send-for-signature to spam, phish, or harass. We'll terminate accounts that do.
- Don't scrape, automate, or otherwise abuse the API beyond what a normal user would do. Rate limits apply.
Our intellectual property
AttachKit — including its software, source code, design, look and feel, text, and logos — is owned by the operator, protected by copyright and other laws, and licensed to you for use of the Service only; it is not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Except where applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction, you may not: (a) copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or publicly display the Service or any part of its code or content; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive its source code or underlying structure, or circumvent its technical limitations; (c) use the Service or any part of it to build, train, or operate a competing product or service; or (d) remove or alter any proprietary notices. Third-party open-source components remain under their own licenses, which govern those components only.
Subscriptions and refunds
Pro subscriptions bill monthly or yearly via Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each billing period — your payment method is charged the then-current price each period until you cancel. Cancel anytime at /account; you keep access through the end of the current billing period. Monthly subscriptions: refund within 7 days of the original purchase if you haven't used a paid feature. Annual subscriptions: prorated refund for unused months within 30 days, no refund after that. Any Lifetime purchases from the pre-launch period are honored indefinitely and remain non-refundable.
Who you're contracting with
AttachKit is operated by the operator of AttachKit. These Terms form a contract between you and that operator.
Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and the operator submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware for any dispute not otherwise resolved, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court where available.
Copyright & DMCA
If you believe material handled through AttachKit infringes your copyright, contact us via our contact form with the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). Because your PDFs are processed in your browser and not stored on our servers, our role in hosting content is limited — counsel to confirm the appropriate DMCA posture and register a designated agent if required.
Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability
AttachKitis provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of AttachKit is limited to the greater of (a) $100 USD, or (b) what you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email to active users. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
