Fill a job application cover letter online — free template

A cover letter is the short, personalized note you send with your resume to introduce yourself to an employer and make the case for one specific job. It names the role you're applying for, shows how your experience and skills match what they need, and asks for the next step — usually an interview. A tailored letter is what turns a resume into a real application: it tells the hiring manager why you, and why this role. This template keeps the structure simple — your contact details up top, the date and who you're writing to, then an opening, a body about your relevant experience, and a closing call to action. AttachKit fills your name, address, email, and phone from your saved profile, so you can write the parts that matter and send a clean, dated letter in minutes.

Cover Letter questions, answered

What should I put in the body of a cover letter?
Focus on the role you're applying for. In the opening, name the position and where you saw it and why you're interested. In the body, give one or two concrete examples of experience, skills, or achievements that match what the posting asks for. In the closing, restate your interest, thank them, and ask for an interview. Keep it to a single page and tailor it to each employer rather than reusing a generic letter.
How is this different from my resume?
Your resume is the structured list of your history; the cover letter is a short, personal note that connects that history to one specific job. It lets you explain why you want this role, highlight the two or three things most relevant to it, and show a bit of your voice. Send them together — the letter introduces you and the resume backs it up.
Do I have to address it to a specific person?
It's stronger if you can. Check the job posting, the company's team page, or LinkedIn for the hiring manager's name and use it in the recipient field. If you genuinely can't find a name, a simple greeting to the hiring team or department works — this template leaves the recipient field open so you can use whatever fits.
Does AttachKit send the cover letter to the employer?
No. AttachKit is a private fill-and-sign tool that fills the PDF entirely in your browser — your details never leave your device, and it doesn't submit or send anything. You download the finished PDF and attach it to your application or email yourself, through whatever channel the employer asks for.
