Plans and AI actions: Free, Pro, and Max explained
What each AttachKit plan includes, how the monthly Claude AI-action allowance works on every tier, what happens when you reach a limit, and how the private beta changes things.
Last updated
AttachKit has three plans — Free, Pro, and Max. Every plan does its PDF work the same way: your files are processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded, so the plans differ in allowances and conveniences, not in privacy.
The three plans
| Free | Pro | Max | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0, forever | $12/month or $120/year | $19/month or $190/year |
| Signed PDFs | 15 per month | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Fill, edit & redact | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Claude AI actions | 25 per month | 200 per month | 500 per month |
| Reusable form templates | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| “Signed via AttachKit” footer | On signed PDFs | Removed | Removed |
Beyond the table:
- Pro adds bulk send (the same PDF to up to 50 recipients), bulk-filling forms from a CSV (one filled PDF per spreadsheet row, still processed in your browser), and real-time co-signing over a direct peer-to-peer connection.
- Max adds everything in Pro plus the advanced signing stack: quantum-resistant passkey signatures, remote notary attestation, Counsel Mode (a cryptographic attestation that no third-party AI saw your document), long-term verifiable archives, an embeddable verification snippet, multi-party signing with witnesses and co-signers, encrypted sending where only the recipient can decrypt, tamper-evident edit history, and API access.
Yearly billing works out to two months free: $120/year is effectively $10/month, and $190/year is $15.83/month. Payments run through Stripe, you can cancel anytime, and all prices are in USD. Compare plans and upgrade on the pricing page; your current plan shows on your account page, and paid subscribers manage billing, cadence changes, and cancellation through the Manage subscription button there or on the pricing page.
What counts as an AI action
AttachKit’s AI features are powered by Claude, and each real call to Claude counts as one AI action against your monthly allowance. That covers the heavy, user-initiated AI features:
- AI auto-fill — but only when it actually calls Claude. The on-device fast path, which matches your saved profile to known forms without any network call, never counts.
- AI redaction suggestions in Redact.
- Clause review of contracts.
- AI drafting of documents.
- AI field explanations while filling — on Max these tooltips are Claude-powered and count; the instant built-in hints every other plan sees never do.
- Cited answers over your form library, a Max feature.
Everything that doesn’t use AI is never metered this way: filling, signing, redacting manually, converting, compressing, and the other tools all run locally in your browser at no count. (The Free plan separately caps signed PDF downloads at 15 per month — that is a different counter from AI actions.)
Your allowance resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC). A usage counter appears in the app as you use AI, and the number it shows is read from the same source the server enforces — what you see is what is enforced.
What happens when you reach the limit
- Free and Pro: the AI features pause until the month rolls over. Once paid plans are open, the message points at the next tier up — Free is invited to Pro or Max, Pro is invited to Max.
- Max: there is no higher plan, so going past the 500-action ceiling shows “Contact support if you need a higher limit.” Get in touch and we can talk about raising it.
There is no unlimited-AI tier on any plan — 500 actions a month on Max is a ceiling almost no one reaches, but it is a ceiling.
During the private beta
While AttachKit is in private beta, every paid feature is unlocked free for signed-in users — the paid cards on the pricing page are a preview of what plans will cost later, and no card is required. There is one deliberate exception: Claude AI actions stay metered at your plan’s real allowance even during the beta (a Free account gets its 25 per month), because each AI call has a real cost behind it. If you hit the cap in beta you’ll see “You’ve reached this month’s free-beta AI limit” and the counter resets next month.
