Fill 1040-ES estimated-tax vouchers — free
Form 1040-ES is how freelancers, contractors and anyone with untaxed income pay federal tax during the year, in four quarterly installments. Each payment voucher takes your name, address, SSN and the amount you're paying. AttachKit fills the repeating parts so all four are done in one sitting.
Who needs it: Self-employed people, 1099 contractors, gig workers, landlords and investors — anyone who expects to owe $1,000 or more in tax that isn't covered by paycheck withholding.

General information, not legal or tax advice
This page is general information about a commonly-used tax form. Tax law is complex and fact-specific — for advice on your return, consult a CPA, enrolled agent, or tax attorney. AttachKit fills the PDF; the IRS holds you responsible for what's on it.
- When are estimated-tax payments due?
- For a normal calendar year the four installments are generally due in mid-April, mid-June, mid-September, and mid-January of the following year (the IRS shifts a date when it lands on a weekend or holiday). Confirm the current year's exact dates on the IRS 1040-ES instructions.
- Do I actually have to pay estimated tax?
- Generally if you expect to owe at least $1,000 after subtracting withholding and credits. The 1040-ES package includes a worksheet to estimate what you owe, and safe-harbor rules can also avoid a penalty. This isn't tax advice — check the instructions or a tax pro.
- Is my SSN safe on the voucher?
- Yes — your SSN fills on your device and is never uploaded to our servers or sent to any AI. The whole form is processed in your browser.
